South African celebrities have come out in their forces to back Shamiso in her ordeal with CemAir.
On Sunday, 17 March the MTV Base hose was kicked off a flight from Durban to Johannesburg, after an alleged altercation with the flight attendant.
Taking to her Instagram live, Shamiso tried reasoning with airport police who attempted to remove her from the flight for her reported “unruly and abusive” behaviour.
Explaining the situation on her live, Shamiso Mosaka said she was on a phonecall with her friend when she was boarding, and dropped an “f-bomb” (swear word) during her private conversation.
However, the flight attendant called her out on that, and asked her to get off her phone which led to a heated exchange.
The attendant then alerted the Captain who shut down the plane before handing the matter over to police.
While celebrities such as Somizi, Ntsiki Mazwai and some witnesses who claim they were on board the flight have backed Shamiso who claims she was racially profiled in the ordeal, CemAir have said in a statement that as a passenger, the TV personality was unreasonable and did not comply.

CemAir says that Shamiso attempted to gain access to the aircraft flight deck which is a serious offence.
“CemAir confirms that there was an incident on scheduled flight 5Z0329 on Sunday 17 March 2024 at King Shaka International Airport. A late boarded passenger became unruly and abusive, refusing to follow the lawful instructions of the cabin crew member.
When the cabin crew member determined that she was unable to reason with the passenger she informed the Captain.
The Captain shut down the already running engines and attempted to persuade the passenger to comply with the safety regulations on board the aircraft.
When the Captain could not reason with the passenger either, the matter was handed over to the South African Police Service and the passenger was removed from the aircraft.
Whilst under police escort from the aircraft the passenger freed herself and attempted to gain access to the aircraft flight deck. This is a serious offence.
CemAir will support the police in their further investigation and potential prosecution of the matter.”
Shamiso hasn’t spoken out since the incident.
