“The hardest experiences of my life” – Celine Dion continues to fight her Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS) diagnosis.
Celine Dion (55) has opened up about her experience living with stiff person syndrome (SPS), an uncommon neurological ailment that results in excruciating pain and uncontrollable muscular spasms.
After disclosing her SPS diagnosis in December 2022, Dion had to postpone her European tour dates before ultimately having to call off the entire run.
She allegedly lost control of her muscles, especially her vocal muscles, by the end of December 2023.
However, Dion made her first public appearance in almost three months with a surprise performance at the 2024 Grammy Awards in February.
Dion expressed her optimism that she will be able to sing once more for crowds after making an appearance on stage last month.
In the photo, Dion appeared beside her three sons, René-Charles, Nelson, and Eddy, the twins, all of whom were holding go-kart race trophies.
“Today the world recognizes International SPS Awareness Day.
As many of you know, in the fall of 2022, I was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS). Trying to overcome this autoimmune disorder has been one of the hardest experiences of my life, but I remain determined to one day get back onto the stage and to live as normal of a life as possible. I am deeply grateful for the love and support from my kids, family, team and all of you!
I want to send my encouragement and support to all those around the world that have been affected by SPS. I want you to know you can do it! We can do it!
Love
Celine Dion
