Thomas and Skhumba feel that some companies need to enforce a dress code to avoid instances where employees are dressed inappropriately for the office.
A similar conversation was had with Sizwe Dhlomo and the Kaya Drive team in 2022, when he asked if it was appropriate to make use of workout attire everywhere, even at the office.
It seems the trio of Kaya 959 presenters are sticklers for “appropriate” dress codes at the office and are now advocating that uniforms be adopted at the radio station.
Skhumba believes he is one of three well-dressed employees at Kaya 959, and says the rest can all some help in getting dressed in the morning.
They’re not alone however, and many listeners agreed that some of their peers just don’t take pride in what they wear to work.
One listener shared that her female colleague flaunts her body in cropped tops, strappy dresses, and wears skirts that leave very little to the imagination.
The listener is of the opinion that an office environment should be respected and one should keep the revealing outfits for weekends at groove.
“There’s a girl at my work who comes to the office wearing crop tops, wearing dresses that are showing her whole cleavage, wearing the shortest dresses and skirts.
They said we mustn’t wear strappy tops, but there she is wearing strappy things. No, it’s a lot.”
