Singer-songwriter Brenda Mtambo recently shared her struggle with stuttering, a speech impediment that has posed challenges for her.
In a candid post to her followers, Mtambo admitted that she often finds it difficult to record videos due to her anxiety, which can trigger her stuttering.
Despite these obstacles, Mtambo has come to accept her stuttering and has learned the importance of being open about it with others. She believes that by sharing her story, she can help others understand her better. “I am comfortable with it, however, I leant that I need to let people know so they don’t think I am weird.”
In her post, Mtambo also expressed her gratitude to her fans for their unwavering support of her music and live performances.
In 2023, Brenda Mtambo joined my Top 10 at 10 with Tbose for an exclusive interview following her five-year break from the music industry. The singer told Tbose that when she was recording her new album, she was also mourning the loss of your mom.
“I lost my mom in 2020. She was involved in a bad accident. It came as a shock. The accident happened in October 2019. I had a show at that time in Pietermaritzburg. I was flying back to Johannesburg for a show.
“I just continued with the whole day. I see the same number trying to call me at 11 p.m. after a show. They told me that my mother had been involved in a very bad car accident. From that day on, I never felt okay,” said Mtambo.
