Students have been warned about the “rapid increase” in fake institutions.
As the year commences and students get ready to pursue their tertiary education, a warning as been issued with the rise of fake institutions across the country.
South Africans students have been cautioned against falling for fake domestic and foreign universities and have been advised to confirm the legitimacy of any college before enrolling.
The Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO), Council on Higher Education (CHE), South African Qualification Authority (SAQA), and Umalusi held a media briefing on Monday to discuss phony certifications and fraudulent institutions.

Concerns were raised by the nation’s quality assurance organizations about the “rapid increase” in fraudulent institutions that are appearing in the nation’s main economic hubs.
