“The audacity, the gall, the liver” – New BOSA member Ayanda Allie on Ramaphosa’s SONA.
President Cyril Ramaphosa’s final State of the Nation Address (SONA) before the general election was met with heavy criticism by most opposition parties.
On Thursday night, Ramaphosa promised to sign the NHI Bill, extended the R350 social relief grant, and spoke of the story of the first 30 years of our democracy through an anecdote of the life of a child called #Tintswalo born in 1994.
Ayanda Allie, a former spokesperson for the Ministry of Transport, who joined Build One SA (Bosa) a few weeks ago as the party’s director of communications gave a scathing account of the Ramaphosa’s speech.
Speaking to ENCA, Allie said the speech was filled with “big English, empty and devout of the truth.” and accused the ANC government of not having “the ability to implement anything the president is saying.”
“They are inhibiting good and well-meaning civil servants. Where are the bullet trains, and houses for Alexandra residents?
“Where is the smart city and the reliable electricity? The president has the sheer audacity to speak about state capture as if it were done by aliens out of space. Mr President, you were deputy during state capture, it was you who enabled it.”

On “Tintswalo” — a child of democracy born in 1994.
In a video that has been widely shared on social media, Allie also commented on the terrible conditions of the president’s children who grew up like “Tintswalo” — who the President dubbed as the child of democracy born in 1994.
“Those implicated are right there with you in the room. And then he speaks of Tintswalo, may God have mercy on her soul.
“She lives in a dilapidated RDP house because it was built with inferior material so that politicians can get kickbacks, she goes to hospitals that have no doctors, her parents have no jobs. Don’t let me get started on NSFAS because it has not paid her registration and yet students are in orientation as we speak,”
