The Star IS Reborn! Zakes Bantwini’s much anticipated new album is here and it’s giving everything that needs to be given.
Just in time to set the mood for Summer Flava too, the Grammy award-winning artist has proven that his artistry is second to none.
Showcasing a new era in Afrotech music, the album is an in-depth story of Bantwini’s journey, and each track a chapter of his undoubted influence in the industry.
Within a few hours since the album was released on Friday, 08 December, the track Mama Thula has already been stremed over 320 000 times.
The track has a similar feel to Bantwini’s previous summer hit, Osama but with intense soul and a lot of heart. It is a sure fire winner and bound to be popular on playlists at December parties.
Osama was awarded 4 platinum plaques after spending 10 weeks as No.1 on South African Radio.

Listening to the album, Bantwini’s passion for his craft oozes through every finite beat, and rhythmic balance, and the fusion of his South African roots with international notes is beautiful.
Zakes Bantwini has also just announced his second performance in the UK on 03 February, with Angelos and TIMANTI.
The Star IS Reborn is now available on streaming platforms including Apple Music and Spotify.
