The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Mopani, Limpopo have rallied to fetch a Hoërskool Ben Vorster learner for using a racial slur online.
On Wednesday, 29 November EFF Mopani regional leadership led by Chairperson Mangena Simon deployed forces to the school in Tzaneen, mobilizing student committee members to engage and dismantle apartheid after the unidentified learner called a social media user an “EFF K****r.”
In a video that has since gone viral, the learner casually calls popular YouTuber Sonwabile the k-word during a live video chat on the platform Kick.
Taken aback by the offensive comment, Sonwabile maintained his composure by responding, “Whoa, okay? that’s not nice. That is not nice. In 2023, we are still dealing with racism.”

Just hours after the video went viral, EFF members in their numbers rallied in Tzaneen to fetch the Hoërskool Ben Vorster learner.
The learner, reportedly a 16-year old in Grade 9 has since gone offline from his social media accounts.
Hoërskool Ben Vorster has deactivated comments on the school’s social media pages and has not released a statement about the incident.
