Rise Mzansi National Organiser, Makashule Gana gave details of the urgency of the tax reform highlighting that single mothers are the backbone of the nation and need the tax relief.
“What I am advocating for is tax relief for single mothers and the basis for this being around single mothers is that 44% of all children in South Africa are raised by single mothers. As we know statistics every single year also indicate that women are paid less than men, making that the second reason. The third reason why I advocating for tax relief for single mothers is that the burden of care, not only for children but in many instances even grandparents or the elderly falls on the shoulders of the mothers.”
