Legendary 80s pop music icon Marc Rantseli has passed away.
The 58-year-old along with his brother Alex Rantseli, Rantseli was a member of the musical duo Marc Alex.
Originating in Diepkloof, Soweto, the pair won the 1988 OKTV Awards for Best Newcomer, and their song Heartbreakin’ Love reached the top of the charts on 5FM and Radio Metro.
Marc was hospitalized at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto two weeks ago because of excessive blood pressure, according to his brother Alex Rantseli.
He passed away as a result of a brain aneurysm at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto on Wednesday night.
