According to several reports, the whistle-blower in Dr Tumi’s fraud case, Billy Itumeleng Simamane, says he didn’t know that the musician was implicated in the case.

Simamane runs The Message, a non-profit organisation (NPO) whose name was used to allegedly defraud the National Lotteries Board of R1.5m in 2018.
The 38-year-old man opened the case of fraud in November 2019 in Bekkersdal, on the West Rand, reports celebgossip.co.za.
He told the publication that he didn’t know the famous musician and had to google him after he received a document from the National Lotteries Commission (NLC) regarding the case.
Simamane says he doesn’t have a relationship with the ‘Wafika’ hitmaker.
Dr Tumi addresses …
Dr Tumi told his social media followers that he will not be talking about the case.
“As per legal advice, kindly note that we won’t be commenting on the current media reports, as the matter is before the courts. Thank you for your understanding and support,” he wrote.

Last week, the Gospel mega-star was arrested following a fraud case that he is involved in.
Dr Tumi, real name Tumisang Makwenya, is accused of defrauding the National Lotteries Board of R1.5m in 2018.
The singer and his wife, Kgaogelo Makweya, were listed as committee members at a non-profit organisation, and allegedly submitted altered grant application documents to the National Lotteries Board for approval of funds on projects in 2018.
The couple allegedly received R760 000 from the funds.
They were released on R3,000 bail each.
