ACDP Leader, Kenneth Meshoe on his party joining the Multi-Party Charter.
The African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) has been formally welcomed as the newest member of the Multi-Party Charter for South Africa.
Point of View with Phemelo Motene spoke to ACDP Leader, Kenneth Meshoe about his party officially signing the Multi-Party Charter ahead of the 2024 elections.

Seven opposition groups convened in Kempton Park for a two-day convention in August of this year in an effort to create a bloc and challenge the ANC in the upcoming elections. On Thursday, the party was formally admitted into the charter in Cape Town.
ACDP Leader, Kenneth Meshoe said they avoided joining the seven parties as they were not interested in forming a coalition with parties who might not get the necessary percentages.
“The moonshot pact was about them saying that they were going to form a coalition before the election, and the ACDP’s position was that we would not form a coalition with anybody before what percentage each political party had received. Coalitions are based on the strength of parties and you might agree with somebody that you are going into a coalition, and the very people who agreed with don’t get the necessary percentages or votes to be in parliament,” said Meshoe
