An anonymous listener shares that her life has been under threat from her father’s sisters since they found out that he had included her in his will. To try to resolve this matter, her stepdad has called for a family meeting. However, she is hesitant to attend as her safety could be compromised.
“I was raised by my stepfather, who took great care of me from childhood until now. Even after divorcing my mom, he continued to take me to private schools and made sure I had everything I needed. After falling ill in 2018, he informed me that he had a will that included my younger brother, his other stepchild, and me.
“His life insurance only covered my younger brother and me. He told us where to go and what to do if he passed away. Additionally, he gave me his Mercedes Benz, which made his sisters and another stepdaughter unhappy. They have been sending me threatening messages, insisting that I leave their younger brother.
“In 2021, his stepdaughter and her mom threatened to kill me. They have been sending me threats, and they even attacked me earlier this year with knives. I believe their intention was to kill me, but fortunately, they were unsuccessful by God’s grace. Now, my dad has requested a meeting with everyone involved, but I declined because I know what they are capable of. Am I wrong for refusing to meet with people who attempted to kill me?”

One listener points out that Anonymous is within her rights to refuse to attend the meeting, considering her previous encounters with them. “You are not wrong to refuse to meet with people who are trying to kill you. If people show you who they are for the very first time, leave them.”
Another listener counsels Anonymous to attend the meeting, just remotely. “These days, we have good technology. You can have a visual meeting without being there physically. These people are dangerous because they tried to kill you before,” said the listener.
