Canadian superstar Celine Dion is doing everything in her power to recover from her incurable disease.
The singer’s sister shared an update on Celine’s health in an interview with Hello! Canada, saying there’s so little that can be done to alleviate the pain from her condition.
Celine, a multi-Grammy award-winning artist was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS) in December 2022, and took a leave of absence from her performances, hoping to return to the stage in 2023.
However, her sister, Claudette says the family is now just praying for a miracle as the spasms Celine experiences are impossible to control.
“The disease is a mystery to doctors and there’s very little that can be done to ease her pain. Celine is doing everything to recover. She’s a strong woman. It’s an illness we know so little about.
There are spasms, they’re impossible to control. There’s little we can do to support her, to alleviate her pain. We’re crossing our fingers that researchers will find a remedy for this awful illness.”

SPS is is a rare autoimmune neurological disorder that most commonly causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms that come and go and can worsen over time.
The condition makes it difficult for the Because You Loved Me hitmaker to perform.
While the 55-year old’s medical team continues to evaluate and treat the condition, it seems highly unlikely that Celine Dion will be able to perform again anytime soon.
Since her diagnosis, Celine has remained out of the public eye.
