In recent years, the friendship between DJ Zinhle and Pearl Thusi has garnered significant attention. What was once an exceptionally strong bond between the two appeared to have experienced a gradual distancing. In a revealing interview on DJ Fresh’s podcast, Pearl Thusi shed light on this matter, providing much-needed clarity.
Pearl candidly disclosed that her connection with Zinhle transcends friendship; they share a sisterly bond that, much like any profound relationship, has experienced its share of disagreements.
“Zinhle and I have always been friends. I consider Zinhle to be a sister. I have three sisters, and there have been times when I have a sister and we haven’t spoken for over a year and a half. With Zinhle, we did have a moment, but it wasn’t a moment where I was like, I’d never speak to you again. We’re adults, and we’re growing. Sometimes we are going to have moments where we may not agree on things. However, I must say that our lives have evolved since then.”

Pearl points out that there was an era when their bond was amplified due to their shared living arrangements. “Now she is married and has another child. She’s building a beautiful empire. I’ve also got other friends I’d like to spend time with. I’ve got two children, and I’m most of the time outside of the country,” she explained.
Contrary to the impression that they are drifting apart, Pearl emphasizes that their journeys are taking them on individual paths.
“I wouldn’t say that we are growing apart, but sometimes we take moments to focus on our own personal journeys. We’ve decided that we are not going to feed into this in terms of trying to appease people when we spend time together. In fact, there are so many times when Zinhle and I have spent time together that we just didn’t post about it. Not everything is a moment to post.”

Concluding her thoughts, the mother of two affirms that her relationship with Zinhle remains strong. “She’s an incredible woman and a friend. Also, our friendship circle grew. There were two of us, and there were also Nomuzi, Thabsie, Yolanda, and Brendon, and now there’s a relationship where people are working together. You not seeing me in her reality show doesn’t mean I am not in her reality,” said Pearl.
