IFP Youth Brigade wants the party to dump Multiparty Charter.
The IFP Youth Brigade (IFPYB), has split ranks, calling on party officials to retract a joint statement they made with other opposition parties this week “or alternatively withdraw from the multiparty charter” and accusing them of being dishonest.
Mlungisi Mabaso, national secretary of the IFP youth brigade, stated that not all party structures are in agreement in a letter to IFP leaders.
In the letter, Mabaso stated that the national executive committee (NEC) of the youth structure decided to write to senior party leaders in response to the stance adopted by the IFP at the multiparty charter in Gauteng at a meeting held on Saturday.

That tells you that whenever some get paid by other political parties they will say they won’t work with someone whereas in the future they work with them.” said Mlungisi Mabaso,
Mkhuleko Hlengwa MP, IFP National Spokesperson responded to the letter by IFP Youth Brigade (IFPYB).
“The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) notes the letter of the IFP Youth Brigade (IFPYB) regarding its concerns over the declaration – the Multi-Party Charter for South Africa – signed by the Party at the recently held National Convention.
The Party finds the IFPYB letter to be hasty, in that both the IFPYB National Chairperson and National Secretary are full-time members of the IFP NEC by virtue of their positions; accordingly, they have jumped the gun to arrive at conclusive decisions, pronouncements and proposals without having been briefed on the outcomes of the National Convention” said Mkhuleko Hlengwa,
