Presenter of Zizokuthola Xolani Khumalo is currently embroiled in controversy after a suspected drug dealer, who was being interrogated by Khumalo and his crew, passed away under mysterious circumstances last week.
According to Gauteng police spokesperson Mavela Masondo, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident as of yet.
“The police can confirm that a case of murder was opened at Vosloorus police station and transferred to Katlehong North police station, where an investigation is underway. No arrests have been made yet, but the investigation’s at an advanced stage.”
In response to the incident, Moja Love released a statement explaining their involvement in the matter. The channel clarified that, based on the information available to them, their crew, along with community law enforcement groups organized by the local South African Police Service (SAPS), responded to a community tip-off regarding a drug bust in Katlehong on July 19, 2023. Moja Love asserted that the information received from the community was deemed credible and verifiable, prompting their participation in the operation.
While Moja Love acknowledges that their crew was present near the premises during the questioning of the deceased, they are currently conducting an internal investigation to understand the circumstances that led to the individual’s unfortunate need to be rushed to the hospital.
