Thebe Magugu has designed Orlando Pirate’s new kit.
The official Home and Away jerseys for the 23/24 season by Orlando Pirates and top global sportswear brand adidas have been designed in association with South African fashion designer Thebe Magugu.
Magugu won the renowned LVMH Prize for Young Designers in 2019, making history as the first designer from the African continent to take home the award and has previously collaborated with brands including AZ Factory and Dior.
He shared how excited he was to be part of the history of Orlando Pirate’s legacy.
“Global sport is a phenomenon that will continue to rise, it’s fascinating to see other industries align uniquely to become a part of it – from music to luxury fashion.
“My brand is all about exploring and bringing to light unique facets of our history and culture, and none has left more of an impact than the legacy of Orlando Pirates, and I am honoured to contribute so significantly to that history.” said Magugu
