In May this year, musician Zakes Bantwini turned 43 years old.
Wishing her husband Zakes a Happy Birthday Nandi Madida penned an unfeigned letter to him:
“This morning! Happy birthday to the love of my life and musical genius Zakes Bantwini. You continue to make all your dreams come true, but the best part is that you’re a kind human being. God and the ancestors continue to favour you because of your heart.. soar my king!”
Zakes only celebrated this milestone recently, hosting his industry mates at a star-studded lush party in Johannesburg.
The attendees included Nadia Nakai, Shekhinah, K.O, and Boity.
Zakes Bantwini plans to retire from music
After 16 years in the music industry, Zakes Bantwini is preparing for retirement.
The award winning artist and businessman will be bowing out after the release of his highly-anticipated final album, Abantu.
In a media release from his label, Independent Media Group Africa, Zakes confirmed the release of his final studio album.
“Zakes Bantwini has confirmed his final studio album, titled ”Abantu“, set for release in November”.
This new album will follow his multi-platinum-selling album Ghetto King which featured hits like Imali, Osama, and Girl in The Mirror.
