With the increase in AI-generated content, it is becoming more and more difficult to differentiate between what is real and what is fake. This can lead to people falling victim to fake news, scams, and other harmful content.
In March of this year, several AI-generated images of former US President Donald Trump being detained circulated on social media amid reports that he may have been charged.
Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to deem the images fake.
“Illegal leaks from a corrupt and highly political Manhattan district attorney’s office indicate that, with no crime being able to be proven, the far and away leading Republican candidate and former president of the United States of America will be arrested on Tuesday of next week.”
With the trend of AI technology being used for the wrong reasons, listeners shared with Sizwe Dhlomo and Sol Phenduka their experiences with falling for fake content, like AI-generated songs, images, and emails.
