In 2018, late actor Patrick Ndlovu, better known as Ntate Moloi for his role in Zone 14 featured on a Kaya 959 interview where he was called the “Godfather” of SA TV.
Ndlovu who passed away at the age of 85 shared how his career in acting and the entertainment industry shaped his life and molded his career that spanned four decades.
“When you go into a character, whether it’s a principal, villain or caretaker in a mortuary, you have to make it believable. So, that’s what I do, I go deep into a character and break it into pieces.
When I did Zone 14, it was difficult, I was shooting something like 15 to 16 scenes a day.
Some days you start at 05h00 and finish after 19h00, and I was only off on Mondays, and I had to prepare to deliver those lines.
The character himself, Ntate Moloi, was hectic, he’d go from one mood to another, the patterns were ever-changing.”
