
R400 million worth of fake Gucci, LV, Zara and more goods intercepted at the Durban Harbour.
After a ship reached Durban Harbour on Wednesday, police officials confiscated counterfeit items worth R400 million.
According to Colonel Robert Netshiunda, a spokesperson for the KwaZulu-Natal provincial police, they were able to positively identified a vessel and halted a container carrying the fake goods.
The counterfeit goods have a street value of almost R400 million with different items such a shoes, spectacles, clothing etc.
KwaZulu-Natal police have confirmed the container originated in Asia.

He stated that they were still looking into the destination of the counterfeit items.
“Officers were performing their routine risk profiling when they identified a cold storage container whose details looked suspicious. The container was correctly searched at a depot in Isipingo and tons of counterfeit items of well-known clothing brands worth approximately R400 million were recovered.”
“The container was coming from an Asian country and the police have already started with the process to establish the intended destination and the possible recipients.” said Netshiunda
