The highly-anticipated Real Housewives of Durban Reunion dropped on Wednesday and has everyone talking! And judging by the feedback on social media, Mablerh has delivered as the host so far. He was direct in his approach and asked all the burning questions viewers needed answered.
Here are 10 key takeaways from The Real Housewives of Durban Reunion: Part 1.
Did Slee abandon her kids?
During the season, Slee opened up about not giving enough attention to her children during her divorce. This raised concerns with viewers as her parenting skills came under scrutiny.
Addressing this in the reunion, Slee clarified that she ‘didn’t abandon’ her kids but they lived with their father.
“I went through a divorce, my children were living with me and their father. And we went through a divorce I couldn’t have uprooted my kids from the norm. They were already going through so much, I had to sacrifice and allow their dad to stay with them because that was their bed and their home,” she explained.
“Also, when I said I was away from my kids I only meant that I wasn’t there to take them to school every day but I would see them every weekend. I even went as far as getting a house in Hillcrest so that I could spend more time with them. I was a present mom but not the way that I wanted to be.”
Has Sorisha Changed?
We can all agree that in this new season, we saw a different Sorisha compared to previous seasons. She has stood up for herself and called a lot of people out.
Sorisha explains that she felt that previously, she “had always shoved [her] own opinion to try and keep the peace.”
Nonku And Annie’s quarrel
Nonku and Annie, who were once close have fallen out and hardly speak to one another.
Answering Mablerh’s question about the possibility of reconciliation, Annie said, “When a person shows you who they are, you believe them.”
What is happening between Sorisha and Nonku?
Sorisha and Nonku is another duo from season 2 that has fallen out. Sorisha doubts if they will ever be friends again after Nonku “blocked” her on social media. “I was like if you have time to do that why am I even here? There is nothing,” said Sorisha.
Where is Rough Diamond?
Rough Diamond was introduced to the viewers by Nonku as her new love interest. Things escalated rapidly between the pair. RD bought her a new car and popped the big question weeks later.
However, reports suggest that Nonku called off the engagement after RD scammed her. During the reunion, Nonku said she, “can’t answer any questions about him” as it is a legal matter. She confirmed that they are no longer together.
RD has been previously convicted of rape and spent 6 months in prison. “I fell in love with him and saw a side a lot of people didn’t see,” said Nonku.
Why did Sane attack Londie London?
Who can forget Sane’s verbal attack on Londie London where she aired out her dirty laundry? This was a very weird moment as no one could understand why it was any of her business.
Explaining the incident Sane says, it’s the way Londie “looked and pointed at me” that threw her off.
Jojo & Ruan’s Friendship
Ruan is Jojo’s husband and is featured frequently in season 3. The issue most viewers had with him is that he has “no backbone.” Ruan has been friends with Jojo for two years, but surprisingly he has known Maria way longer. Speaking at the reunion, Maria felt “betrayed” by Ruan.
What are Mabusi Vibes?
Mbali was clearly upset after Slee told her that her ex-friend Nonku has previously said that she is ‘giving Mabusi Vibes.’
Most viewers couldn’t understand what was so wrong about Mabusi that left Mbali exasperated.
“I don’t have a problem with Mabusi but I don’t view her like that. However, the way they used to treat her, undermined her. That for me felt like I was looked down on. I felt offended because I supported her and her wine brand but she called me Mabusi Vibes,” Mbali explained her frustration.
Mabusi Vibes, according to Nonku
Explaining what she meant by ‘Mabusi Vibes,’ Nonku Williams had this to say:
“Mbuzi Vibes is a hustler. A woman who works really hard and is an independent woman with nobody to really help her. But if you press the wrong buttons then she is going to respond, or react. That is what I saw when I saw Mbali.”
How did Annie sleep her way to the top?
Londie London is not the only person Sane verbally attacked. The ‘chef’ alleged that Annie ‘slept her way to the top.’
“She was working with Kgopolo and ended up being the wife,” claimed Sane at the reunion.
