Renowned singer/songwriter Monique Bingham joins My Top 10 at 10 with Tbose following a three-year-long break from making music.
Bingham has laced vocals on some of the most iconic records in the South African music scene. Most notably Take Me To My Love by Ralf Gum and Deep In The Bottom by Black Coffee.
In 2020 she went back to her home country the US for what was supposed to be a short trip, however, because of Covid, her plans to return were halted. In that time period Bingham found love and got hitched.
“I’m a little freaked out,” she tells Tbose. “My life changed and creatively not trying and being in the states for a long time.”
Bingham is now back in SA working on her solo album. “I’ve got to produce and release an album. No just lying my thoughts and ideas on top of someone else’s thoughts but really from the beginning to the end producing.”
The musician revealed that she now has ‘material enough for two album.’ She is yet to confirm the official release date.
