Sikelelwa asked the nation to continue praying for her because she lost her “pillar of strength”.
“Life will never be the same,” she wrote on Facebook.
Menzi died earlier this month after suffering a stroke. The former ‘Generations’ actor was 56.
Sikelelwa said she has read every message sent to her, even though she could not respond to all the well wishes.
Menzi’s official Instagram page shared her emotional post.
“We all know how Menzi loved his family, making sure that they are always happy. Here’s a message from his Queen MaNgubs, where she acknowledges all the messages sent during this difficult time,” the caption read.
A beautiful love story
Menzi and Sikelelwa first started dating in 2004. But they later broke up.
Their paths crossed again in 2013 after a chance meeting. Sikelelwa was working as a receptionist at one of the SABC’s offices at the time.
“In 2013 May you walked into my office, I couldn’t believe that after all these years we will ever cross paths again, but God had his plans.
“It was the beginning of our lives together. The most important, the happiest years of my life,” Sikelelwa wrote in a beautiful tribute shared at Menzi’s funeral.
Menzi has shared several pictures of his “queen” on Instagram. His last post before he died was a selfie he took of them together.
He praised Sikelelwa in a sweet post shared in December 2019.
“The one that makes sure that every morning I get ready to face the day, makes sure that I bring smiles to your homes through the telly by providing immense support – from nutritional meals to my smile & my outfits, the one that God gave me as a gift. The loving, caring mother to our kids. My Queen.”
