Veteran South African journalist and radio talk show host, Redi Tlhabi has clapped back at social media users for questioning her friendship with Dr Nandipha Magudumana.
Twitter users have been digging through Dr Nandipha’s files and have linked Tlhabi to the aesthetics doctor from 2017.
“Show me your friends and I’ll let you know your character,” tweeted one user who posted a picture of Tlhabi posing with Dr Nandipha at an event.
Tlhabi has since opened up about her friendship with Dr Nandipha, saying she hasn’t seen the doctor since February 2019.
Dr Nandipha who is implicated in fugitive, Thabo Bester’s escape from Mangaung Correctional Center last year, has also allegedly stolen the identity of a fellow medical professional.
With more celebrities distancing themselves from any association with the disgraced doctor, Tlhabi shared that despite being friends with Dr Nandipha, she would still call the police on her.
The media personality who now resides in the UK after joining the BBC, shared in a series of tweets, that she befriended Dr Nandipha through their husbands who are friends.
“Oh phela, when he now ex-husband introduced her to his circle of friends, we should have all said, ‘No, not pleased to meet you because in 10-years you’ll be running off with Bester’…I mean why didn’t I see that in 2013?”
Dr Nandipha married Dr Mkhuseli Magudumana in 2013, 2-years after losing contact with convicted rapist and murderer Thabo Bester.
Tlhabi said while her heart breaks for the couple’s two daughters, she has not had contact with Dr Nandipha in years.
“I mean! And people digging up old pictures, like we should have all known that years later, she’d be smuggling a serial rapist out of jail? We should have read it in her eyes?”
