The latest John Wick movie has just been released in South Africa, which sees actor Keeanu Reeves going on a killing spree to settle old debts.
John Wick 4 is pitted to be the biggest movie in the franchise, with Keeanu Reeves becoming a household name because of his hitman character.
Not only does John Wick execute his enemies in a sensationally graphic manner, but it all started because someone decided to kill Wick’s dog.
So, ensued a bloodbath of vengeance which was so brutal and far-fetched that it was that good.
Now, the John Wick movies are bigger, better and with a $100 million budget for the latest movie, it’s set to be Keeanu Reeves’ biggest blockbuster of all time.
This steered the conversation on Kaya Drive into a laughable session about those movies that are just so bad they have you hooked.
Overrated or not they have you hooked
Fear of missing out is often what leads people to venture out and explore things out of their comfort zones. It’s how anyone really tries anything.
Catch-ups at the office water coolers usually centre around the latest movies or series that has you hooked for whatever reason.
It doesn’t matter how badly written the scripts are, or how average the actors are, there’s something about Emily In Paris that has viewers (mostly women) swooning over the series.
Is it the fashion, the sex, the overly romanticised notion that life in Paris is the ultimate fashion dream? Who knows?
The point is that it’s one of the most viewed series on Netflix and women all over the world want to be Emily In Paris.
Whether these movies are overrated or not, they have people hooked. A few franchises that come to mind are the Fast and Furious, Twilight, Die Hard, Pirates of the Caribbean and the Transformers.
