How seriously do you take your dreams? After someone close to him shared with Sizwe Dhlomo they had a dream about him, the question about whether dreams have any weight on one’s life was raised.
Siz was requested to exercise caution because in the dream, he was in danger.
While Dhlomo laughed off the dreamer’s advice, some say that dreams can offer warnings, like premonitions.
According to psychologist and dream expert, Rubin Naiman, Ph.D, as elusive as dreams are, they are as important as our “waking existence.”
Do you take your dreams seriously?
While there isn’t finite proof, theories about dreams range from “it’s just a bad dream,” to “dreaming is intrinsic to our spiritual existence.”
Dream interpretation is said to be a way for one to decipher the messages our subconscious mind is trying to send us.
Whether one takes these subliminal messages seriously or, shrugs them off like Sizwe Dhlomo is a matter of personal prerogative.
But what if, like Juliet Joseph one is unable to remember their dreams?
Naiman advises people to keep a dream journal where details about the dream they had can be quickly jotted down the minute they awaken.
This will, according to the dream expert enable one to get into the habit of “bridging the dream into real life.”
