South African rapper Blxckie is in the studio with Grammy-award-winning Canadian singer Nelly Furtado.
Furtado, 44, is a popular music singer with over 40 million records sold worldwide. She rose to fame with her 2000 album Whoa, Nelly which was a commercial success.
Two singles off the album, I’m Like a Bird and Turn Off the Light won her a Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
Blxckie is currently on a tour of the United States. Taking to social media, he captioned a snap of him and Nelly Furtado in the studio: “a sydenham heights boy and Nelly Furtado.”
Furtado also posted the same snap on her Insta stories.
Chatting to 959 Breakfast with Dineo Ranaka and Sol Phenduka last year, Blxckie opened up about dropping out of school to pursue music.
“I never finished my social sciences degree and I feel bad about it because I didn’t do it the official way. I know there is a way where you can go to the offices and let them know that you are about to take a little break. I just left,” he told the show.
