Akhona Makalima of South Africa has been selected to serve as the Women’s World Cup referee.
In South Africa, Makalima was the first officially licensed female soccer official.
The Fifa Team of officials will consist of a total of 33 referees, 55 assistant referees, and 19 video match officials.

She serves as a referee for the South African Football Association, the Premier Soccer League, Fifa, and the Premier Soccer League (Safa).

The list of referees for the Fifa World Cup, which will be held in Australia and New Zealand from 20 July to 20 August, was made public by the international governing organization on Monday.

Karboubi Bouchra from Morocco, Salima Mukansanga from Rwanda, and Amedome Vicentia from Togo will join Akhona Makalima from South Africa.
Makalima took place during the 2022 WAFCON competition, where Banyana Banyana won the African championship for the first time ever.
