Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Commander-In-Chief (CIC) Julius Malema is determined to challenge the Parliamentary impeachment vote regarding President Ramaphosa.
Speaking to media after the vote on Tuesday, 13 December, Malema said it was embarrassing that the ANC and Ramaphosa continue to belittle the Constitution of the country.
A majority of MPs voted in favour of Ramaphosa at the National Assembly, saving him from facing the impeachment process.
Malema said that even with evidence the President had violated a number of regulations in the concealment of the theft at his Phala Phala farm, the ANC ignores the fact that Ramaphosa is guilty.
The EFF intends to file papers in court next week to challenge the outcome of the impeachment process and will seek to have the report adopted to ensure the President to brought to task.
“The ANC proved that even with clear evidence brought forward, they did not accept it because the ANC uses its majority to muzzle democracy in South Africa.
Malema said the way forward is to take the matter before an independent court of law to come to a determination. What was the point in establishing a committee that found there is a case with questions for the President to answer, if we are going to run away?”
