Two of the countries most infamous medical parolees, Jacob Zuma and Schabir Shaik reunited at the opening of Zuma restaurant this weekend.
The restaurant reportedly has no ties to the Former President of South Africa and is co-founded by Rainer Becker and Arjun Waney.
Both Zuma and Schabir Shaik were said to be knocking on death’s door whilst serving time in prison. Their release on medical parole sparked mass public outcry over preferential treatment for high-profiled people within the criminal justice system.
It was only in September when Zuma was released on medical parole after his legal team said he was terminally ill and should see out his final days in the comfort of his home.
It’s there’s surprising to see the former statesman in good enough health to be dancing for his supper at the grand opening of the establishment.
Posing for pictures and videos with his close ally Schabir Shaik, both medical parolees looked perfectly fine, showing no sign of frailty or illness.
Zuma was invited to attend the launch of Zuma restaurant by chef David Manal to cut the ribbon before the opening.
There are currently 13 Zuma restaurants globally and 7 seasonal venues.
