The world is pleasantly surprised by Japanese supporters’ match ritual of cleaning after themselves at a stadium.
After their team defeated Germany on Wednesday, Japanese World Cup supporters had a lot to celebrate, but many decided to postpone the festivities to assist with stadium cleanup.
Photos and videos circulating on social media show soccer supporters cleaning up pop bottles and other debris left on the stadium floor while wearing Japan soccer jerseys and carrying blue trash bags.
Despite the fact that their team wasn’t even in action, Japanese supporters were also seen picking up garbage after the tournament’s opening game between Qatar and Ecuador.
