The cost of oil has increased which means the price of petrol will also increase this December.
The Automobile Association (AA) predicts an increase of as much as R1.09c a litre for petrol.
The increase means that 95ULP will cost almost R24 per litre this December, R2 less than the all-time high of R26.74c per litre motorists had paid in July.
Diesel drivers will experience a slight relief with a drop in the cost per litre by at least 34c.
Illuminating paraffin will also increase by 30c per litre.
“The decrease to diesel is…welcomed and should, at least, not immediately negatively impact other prices reliant on diesel as an input cost. Of course, the increase in illuminating paraffin remains a concern as it will affect the poor most,” says the AA.
