Manchester United striker Antony has received mixed reactions from the footballing world after doing the famous Scara Ngobese spin in their 3 nill win over FC Sherrif.
While many fans were entertained, it appears his coach and former football stars were unimpressed by his showboating.
Following the game, his coach Erikk ten Hag said he doesn’t have a problem with the skill if it produces an product, which wasn’t the case for Antony.
https://youtu.be/Z_MfkiphYSk“I don’t have a problem with that [the trick] as long as it’s functional,” said Ten Hag. “I demand more from him — more runs behind, more often in the box and more playing in the pocket. When there is a trick like that, it’s nice as long as it’s functional. If you’re not losing the ball then it’s OK but if it’s a trick because of a trick then I will correct him.”
South African football fans were happy to see the late Scara Ngobese’s trade mark at Old Trafford, Manchester.
Emmanuel Scara Ngobese was born in Katlehong and played for Sowetogiants Kaizer Chiefs as a winger. He also has a few bafana Bafana caps under his belt.
He passed away on the 11th of May 2010 following a long battle with tuberculosis.
