According to the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), a shooting in Atteridgeville resulted in one soldier dying and two others being injured.
According to reports, the soldiers were not in uniform when they were shot at on Saturday.
They were then transported quickly to Thaba Tshwane’s military hospital.
Police are looking into the attack, according to the SANDF, but the motivation is unknown.

Andries Mahapa of the armed forces confirmed the incident, saying:
“At this point, there’s no confirmation if there’s any weapon that was taken from any of the soldiers, however we hope that SAPS will make it a point that they apprehend the perpetrator so that they can be faced with the full might of the law.”
The SANDF has also issued a statement.
