South Africa’s highest earners are enjoying flexible working conditions post Covid-19.
While more than 40% of South Africans earning above the R10 000 a month bracket, have made a full return to the office, the country’s middle-class and high earners still enjoy hybrid working conditions.
Almost 37% of middle-class South Africans earning up to R40 000 a month have returned to the office full-time, compared to 37% of those who earn more.
The number of South Africans who enjoy flexible working arrangements is estimated to be more than one third of the country’s middle class and just over 46% of top earners enjoy the same benefits.
With the Covid-19 pandemic changing the way many companies operate, more corporate environments have adopted the remote working approach.
Not only does it offer workers an improved work/life balance but it reduces company costs.
Some have switched to complete remote working, eliminating the costs of renting office space.
The data from a BrandMapp survey suggests that while a large number of people benefit from remote working, other professions are simply not suited to it.
This means that productivity rates have fluctuated in traditional work environments.
Professions that can be managed remotely include, writers, software developers, analysts, architects, system engineers, researchers and digital marketers.
