Singer-songwriter Moneoa Moshesh, has remembered Uyinene Mretyana two years after her brutal killing.
The University of Cape Town student was murdered at the Clareinch Post Office in August 2019 and her body was later discarded in Khayelitsha.
This past week Moneoa offered her voice to South Africans commemorating Uyinene by revealing how she personally had experienced abuse from an ex-boyfriend.
Moneoa stated that she was thinking about Uyinene while in Cape Town in response to a Women for Change Instagram post about her.
She wrote, “The last time I was in Cape Town I thought about her so much. When I was at the beach, I reflected on her last posts there. I believe death is only physical. I pray her soul is happy and at peace.”
Moneoa was recently a guest on 959 Breakfast with Dineo Ranaka and Sol Phnduka.
