The Asset Forfeiture Unit has reportedly seized assets belonging to Khomotso Phahlane, Bonang Mgwenya and their co-accused.
Following a court order, properties belonging to numerous individuals charged in the multimillion-rand “blue lights” deal, including former national police acting commissioner Khomotso Phahlane and former deputy national police commissioner Bonang Mgwenya were seized.
The properties were seized in Sandton, Pretoria, Boksburg, Springs, and Sasolburg by the Asset Forfeiture Unit and Investigating Directorate (ID) of the National Prosecuting Authority.

On August 18, 2022, the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg issued the order and named assets worth R75 million.
The seized properties are the property of Phahlane, Mgwenya, and their co-accused, Ramahlapi Johannes Mokwena, James Ramanjalum, Ravichandran Swamivel Pillay, and Joseph Maetapese Mulaiwa.
They were also co-accused with former Gauteng police commissioner Deliwe de Lange, former Gauteng deputy police commissioner Nombhuruza Lettie Napo, and former Gauteng

19 real estate properties and around 115 vehicles, including three trucks, are among the seized assets.
Investigating Directorate National spokeswoman Sindisiwe Seboka says the controversial R191 million “Blue lights” case is allegedly linked to SAPS officials and a service provider.
“Earlier today the appointed curator together with the Sheriffs of the Court, members of the Hawks and members of the AFU proceeded to certain residential addresses in Sandton, Pretoria, Boksburg, Springs and Sasolburg to execute a provisional restraint order following an application by the AFU,” said Seboka.
