25-time Grammy Award-winning billionaire Kanye West defended what many have called a “trash bag” apparel display as his Yeezy Gap collection debuted in stores across the United States.
Despite claims that he acknowledged that “the children” and “the homeless” were the line’s primary inspirations, he has been accused of being exploitative.
Images of certain new items from the collection placed in huge trash bags in one store location of the international apparel firm, instead of the normal hangers and T-shirt stands, have surfaced on social media in the latest attention-grabbing example of bizarre retail experiences.
This is how they are selling Yeezy GAP. The sales associate said Ye got mad when he saw they had it on hangers and this is how he wanted it. They won’t help you find ur size too, you just have to just dig through everything pic.twitter.com/GNd08Zv1zC

West, who hasn’t given interviews in recent months, reportedly told Fox News correspondent Eric Shawn that it was “God’s plan” in an effort to quell the roiling controversy.
“Look man, I’m an innovator and I’m not here to sit up and apologize about my ideas, That’s exactly what the media tries to do, make us apologize for any idea that doesn’t fall under exactly the way they want us to think.”
“This is like not a joke, this is not a game, this is not just some celebrity collaboration, this is my life,” the self-proclaimed “greatest artist that God ever created” added. “I’m fighting for a position to be able to change clothing and bring the best design to the people.” said West.
