Twenty years have passed since veteran actress Florence Masebe pulled through a shooting that nearly claimed her life.
The 47-year-old remembered the day she was nearly killed on social media.
She was shot forty times outside her house and left for dead, a day on which she was staring death in the face.

Florence spent weeks in the hospital and endured a number of surgeries to have the bullets removed from her body.
She wrote “18 August 1999 death called, and I said NO! I am here, beautiful scars and all,” she began.
“I remain grateful for life; 20 years on, I am thankful that I was able to rise again and not let the shooting define me. Where fear could have ruled, I chose to focus on being alive.”

The actress from the Republic has triumphed over numerous challenges. Her son’s death in the family pool three years ago left her shattered.
