Airports Company South Africa (Acsa) has announced a new app aimed at facilitating seamless passenger airport experiences.
According to ACSA, Customers can view and look up flights by airport or use advanced search to find out more about flights for upcoming departures.
Passengers can use this functionality to subscribe to a flight and receive information about their flight status.

Kaya Biz with Gugulethu Mfuphi spoke to Mthoko Mncwabe, ACSA’s chief information officer about the new app and how it will improve customer experiences in South African airports.

Mncwabe gave some of the reasons behind introducing the app and why this was important for passengers.
According to him, visitors can use the app to pre-book parking at OR Tambo International Airport and pay parking fines.
“As a listening airport and as a developing airport we have been listening to our passengers and customers and what we are trying to do with the app is seamless parking options and discounts for the purpose of reducing the prices at the airports.”
“We offer 50% discounts when you prebook your parking at the airport on the app which will allow us to facilitate you seamlessly at the airport without having you as the passenger going to the pay station,” says Mncwabe

He also added that If a passenger has the Acsa app, they won’t waste time trying to find their favourite eatery.
All airport amenities and services, he said are also mentioned for convenience.
The app also offers access to the clinic, the most recent Covid-19 guidelines in Acsa’s airports, and its emergency medical call-out procedures.
Mncwabe said that when passing through Oliver Tambo Airport, passengers will be able to reserve and store the outcomes of their Covid-19 PCR test.
