South Africans should brace themselves for another icy weekend as more snow is expected in parts of the country.
A cut-off low pressure system is expected to develop along the coast of Namibia, moving into the Northern Cape.
The system will bring heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and cold temperatures across the country dropping.
Over the weekend, Gauteng will experience highs of just 14°, with more rain throughout the weekend.
According to the South African Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms over parts of the country, including the Cape, Free State and North West.
“Unseasonal (but not uncommon) 24-hour rainfall of 20 to 35 mm can be expected. Although cold daytime temperatures are expected, snowfall is likely to be confined to the Drakensberg and Lesotho regions.”

Meanwhile, snow has already been reported in Lesotho, Drakensberg and Underberg, with a prediction for Level 1 warnings of snow in the Eastern Cape expected for Friday, 24 June.

South Africans who want to see the snow are being advised that roads are icy, which will pose a threat when driving in these conditions.
