Luthando Matodlana, a Gqeberha pastor has been found guilty of raping a man. The pastor from God is Love Ministry in Motherwell is expected back in court on Monday for his sentencing.
Matodlana’s victim first spoke out about the rape on Facebook in 2020 and after a meeting between the two, the man agreed to remove the post.
The man who was 22-years old at the time, said the rape took place after they first texted over Mxit in 2013.
In his social media posts the man, detailed that he was invited over to the pastor’s house, whom he had no intention of sleeping with.
“He called me to sit with him in the room and I was hesitant, but I went anyway. I sat on the edge of the bed uncomfortable and we talked briefly but then he started kissing me.”

The two started texting in January 2013 and Luthando Matodlana invited his accuser over between February and March.
At first the pastor denied that he had raped the man and accused him of being a gay sex worker who tried to extort him of money.
However, Judge Aubrey Mashigo dismissed the pastor’s claims, saying they could not be accepted.
Matodlana was arrested in October 2020 and released on bail the same day. When news of the rape first broke, the pastor’s following refused to believe the allegations, with many coming forward to say he is a “humble, servant of God.”
