Instant karma is a dish best served ice-cold. Something a Cape Town thief learned the hard way, when his quick-thinking target’s calculated move worked in his favour.
Landing the perp face down before an angry mob took matters into their own hands.
In a 30-sec video clip shared to several anti-crime pages, a car is pulling away while a man dangles precariously from the window.
As the car picks up speed, you see the brazen thief clinging on for dear life to the driver’s door.
It’s clear a struggle between driver and robber occur, and the driver drops speed as he tries to fend off the man who is trying to grab either the driver’s cellphone or wallet.
Thankfully, the perpetrator loses his footing and eventually lets go of the car, landing face first in the dirt.
The incident is said to have taken place in Philipi, Cape Town, close to the notorious Cape Flats region.
Disclaimer: The videos below may not be suitable for sensitive viewers as it contains scenes of violence.
The area ranks highly for crime with most residents fed up of being subjected to such criminality on a daily basis.
Which is why when an angry mob of spectators who watched the entire incident seized the opportunity to teach the stuntman/robber a lesson.
Call it instant karma because the mob decided waiting for police to arrive will not get them anywhere, and the robber was given a taste of his own bitter medicine.
He was beaten by several community members who showed him a little more mercy than he would have had the tables been turned.
