Kaya 959 presenter Andy Maqondwana has landed her first on-screen production in Netflix’s debut African podcast series.
The Feel Good host will be co-presenting the series which will be available from 4 May with 947 presenter Zweli Mbhele.
Maqondwana shared that she felt her audition for the gig bombed because her wifi connection failed her.
Clearly the effervescent personality wowed the directors with her extensive knowledge of the African television and entertainment landscape.
‘Never Late | African Time’ will explore the lives of some of Africa’s biggest actors, actresses and industry giants.
The first episode will feature South African comedian Celeste Ntuli and Kunle Remi, who’s starred in A Naija Christmas, Mama Drama, Sin City.
“The first episode is going to funny because we have two people who are funny, Remi has a huge TikTok following and his skits will have you in stitches. We needed the first episode to be funny because we have to, you know, hook you in.”
Available on Africa On Netflix official YouTube page, as well as Spotify and Apple podcasts, the five-part series has to be on your playlist.
The first Netflix African podcast series will be both audio and visual and if you want to watch it, simply head over to Netflix and get hooked.
It’s hard to believe this is Maqondwana’s first on-screen role as the lunch-time host is a natural behind the camera and her knack for getting the most out of guests is bound to make for great viewing and listening.
