Yesterday Will Smith shocked many after stepping on stage to slap Chris Rock at the Oscars following an insensitive joke he made about the actor’s wife.
Everyone has been sharing their two cents on Chris’ joke and the way Will reacted to it. Should he? Should he have not?
Outspoken South African presenter Dineo Ranaka also weighed in on the incident.
In her video, she firstly shared how white bed linen traumatizes her.
“Two things, white bed linen really traumatizes me so I force myself to sleep in it so that I can overcome the trauma. It reminds me of being in the hospital and I’ve been hospitalised a number of times.”
She then insinuated that she would have probably handled the situation the same way Will Smith did as she is no saint.
“Number two, in life we have the Will Smiths’ and the Chris Rocks’ and I am Will Smith (she laughs). People say be graceful, be the bigger person, be kind, and yes, be careful of the devil because, at your highest moment, that’s when he comes for you.
“No, you guys are high in your moments when you are disrespectful. So even me in my highest moment I’m going to handle the disrespect. Guys I’m not Mary Magdelinee, I’m not Jesus Christ. I’m not finna be depressed because I’m suppressing feelings that are supposed to be a response to your disrespect.”
