Zandile Khumalo-Gumede has reacted to the news that a documentary about Senzo Meyiwa is coming to Netflix.
This week the streaming platform announced that a five-part documentary titled Senzo: Murder of a Soccer Star which aims to unpack the unresolved murder was coming on on the 7th of April 2022.
Senzo Meyiwa’s death shocked the nation when it happened at the time.
Meyiwa was shot and killed in his girlfriend afro-pop singer Kelly Khumalo’s mother’s house where six eyewitnesses were at the scene, and Zandile was one of them.
The other eyewitnesses were Kelly Khumalo, Zandi Khumalo, Longwe Twala, Kelly Khumalo’s mother, Thoko and Tumelo Madlala.

Zandile says the documentary is just people trying to make money from an unfortunate situation.
Speaking to the Daily Sun, she said her management has been in touch with Netflix and said she hopes her name is not mentioned in the Documentary without her consent.
“I don’t think there’s anything a documentary can do to help the situation, it’s people just making money out of an unfortunate situation and I don’t need to clear my name for anything.”
“Nobody approached me. No feelings really. I don’t even know what it’s really about so it’s hard for me to feel anything. All I’m hoping is that my name won’t be on the docie without my consent because then I will have a problem. However, my management did get in touch with Netflix management about that part. I will await feedback from them,” she said.
