Legendary Motswana-South African actress, Joyce Skefu is recovering after suffering a mild stroke.
The actress best-known for her roles in local series such as Muvhango, Scandal and Abomama was hospitalised earlier this week.
Sharing with her followers the reason for her absence recently, Joyce said she is currently recovering and receiving therapy.
“Good morning my lovelies hope you all well and kept by the grace of God. Ya life happens. I was quiet because I had a mild stroke, got hospitalised but God did it again. I am doing therapies and getting better daily, but I sincerely thank you because you were my strength even if you did not know. Thank you for your amazing love.”

Skefu is a seasoned actress who has graced South African screens since 1997. Born in Botswana, she later moved to Bloemfontein with her grandparents and Lesotho.
In 2010 and 2014, Skefu survived two car accidents with just minor injuries.
Joyce Skefu was born on 14 April and will celebrate her 58th birthday in a few weeks.
Her debut role was on the soapie Muvhango in 1997, where she played Doris Mokoena. The role ensured Skefu was a popular actress and she was nominated five times for a Best Actress award. She went on to win 2 of them and took home the Duku Duku award which was voted for by the public.
Apart from acting, Skefu is also a voice artist, and physiotherapist and has worked as a health advisor, aerobics instructor and is a minister in church.
