The Department of Health has published new Covid-19 regulations which are open for public opinion.
Comments and opinions can be addressed to Minister of Health, Dr Joe Phaahla.
South Africans have 30-days to submit their comments for government’s consideration.
If approved, the new regulations will replace the current National State of Disaster Covid-19 protocols.
Cabinet extended the state of disaster by another month this week, which is intended to end on 15 April.
The new draft proposal includes restrictions for unvaccinated people at indoor gatherings as well as the mandatory mask policy.
Social distancing will still be in place and valid vaccine certificates are required, for both indoor and outdoor events and gatherings.
A limit of 1 000 and 2 000 people will apply for indoor and outdoor gatherings, respectively.
Travel restrictions will entail submitting a negative PCR tests for anyone entering or leaving the country. Results for unvaccinated individuals will need to be done with a 72-hour minimum timeframe.
The latest Covid-19 statistics for SA over the last 24-hours include, 1,980 new cases at a 6.2% positivity rate.
There were reports of 40 deaths on Wednesday, 16 March, 3 of which occurred during the past 24-48 hours.
Total fatalities to date are at 99,767.
